The New York Rangers Issues a special announcement for legendary play-by-play broadcaster Sam Rosen

The New York Rangers will be celebrating the play-by-play career of announcer Sam Rosen in March when the team takes on the Vancouver Canucks.
On March 22nd, the New York Rangers will honor Sam Rosen, a play-by-play announcer who has been with the Blueshirts for 40 years.
The team will be facing JT Miller's former squad, the Vancouver Canucks as they will be hosted in Madison Square Garden that night for the festivities.
GM Chris Drury has issued a statement on the special night which will honor Rosen's contributions to the Rangers.
"In 40 seasons as the voice of the Rangers on MSG Network, Sam Rosen has become as synonymous with Rangers hockey as anyone who has put on the uniform,» said Chris Drury, Rangers President and General Manager. «Sam's professionalism and passion for the Rangers has earned him the admiration and love of our fans and a tremendous amount of respect throughout the hockey world, as we have seen in so many places this season. We are excited to celebrate Sam's remarkable career during this special day at Madison Square Garden."
The team will have an on-ice ceremony pre-game which will honor Rosen's contributions to the Rangers squad.
His storied career has seen him call impactful games, such as the team's last Stanley Cup win in 1994.
This season, he announced that his career would end at the end of 2024-2025.
He's held the announce position with the Rangers since 1984, a whopping four decades of service,
The words he uttered on June 14, 1994 - «This one will last a lifetime!» - will be celebrated forever.
Rosen has called games alongside NHL Legends like John Davidson, Phil Esposito, and his current partner Joe Micheletti.
For his broadcasting talents, he has won four Emmy Awards and has been nominated to the Hockey Hall of Fame, and the New York State Hall of Fame.
To add to the list of awards to his name, at the beginning of the season, he was awarded the Lester Patrick Trophy for outstanding service to the sport of hockey.
