Unexpected New York Rangers veteran forward is set to be traded: Per respected NHL insider
According to recent reports New York Rangers veteran forward is expected to be traded once the March trade deadline approaches. Especially if they fail to secure a wild card spot as they are just three points away.
Despite recently returning to the Rangers lineup for the four past games before the 4 Nations FaceOff break, Vesey has been very frustrated with continuously being scratched for newly a month.
«It seems that I've fallen out of favor and have just been cast aside over an extended period of time,» Vesey told Larry Brooks of The New York Post. «It feels like I have no role or purpose on this team «I'm kind of dying by being here.»
The 31-year old forward recently seen a promotion in the Rangers lineup. However that just may help him if he's traded, as Staple and Baugh insist that Vesey along with
Ryan Lindgren and
Reilly Smith «will be elsewhere on March 8th.»
The 17:33 of ice time Vesey accumulated in that top-line role last Saturday was his highest he has seen in a game in well over a year.
Throughout the 2024-25 season Vesey has seen a significant decrease in production, with only three goals and four points in 30 games thus far.
