The New York Rangers have signed Panthers defenseman Casey Fitzgerald
The New York Rangers have added some defensive depth to their roster today.
New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury, announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Casey Fitzgerald on a two-year contract worth $775,000 annually.
The 27-year old defenseman played 69 games for the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2023-24 season, managing 4 goals and 17 assists for 21 points. Ranking tied for third place among the Charlotte defensemen.
The North Reading, Massachusetts native was originally selected by the Sabres in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft, and has since skated in 63 NHL games between Florida and Buffalo, collecting 9 assists.
