Congratulations to Sam Carrick, who was voted as the Rangers' "Player's Player", an award voted on by his teammates, which he received today. Though a President's Trophy isn't happening this season, we have to take the wins when we can.

The New York Rangers have started to give postseason awards out, as the team kicks into offseason form. The Rangers were proud to announce today that center Sam Carrick was the recipient of the "Player's Player Award".
The award was voted on by his fellow teammates, and shows the kind of respect Carrick has found in the blueshirts locker room.
Carrick played 79 games for the Rangers this season and averaged 11:54 TOI a night for the team.
«I can bring energy every night, I can be physical when I need to and stand up for teammates,» Carrick said. «I think that in today's game, the fourth line needs to be able to play and needs to be a threat offensively as well. That's what I'm trying to bring here.»
Not only did he earn the respect of his peers this year, but he also posted a career-high 20 points in the NHL (6 goals, 14 assists).
The deal seems to be bearing fruit, as Carrick has been a driver of offense and an aggressive forechecker for the Rangers this year.
