The New York Rangers have a new look heading into 2025-26 with J.T. Miller leading the pack. Ahead of the new year, GM Chris Drury made sure to give the leadership behind the bench a facelift, as Madison Square Garden will be graced with Mike Sullivan's presence, a factor in what gives Frank Seravalli optimism for 2025-26.

NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has always found ways of captivating us through rumors and speculations, which often turned out to be true.
The NHL Insider, who has since moved on from DailyFaceOff, has found a way of keeping us enthralled as he appeared on the "Insider Notebook" for Bleacher Nation, issued a bold statement on the Rangers' future.
Seravalli believes the Rangers are on course for a bounce-back year in 2025-26. After missing a shot at the playoffs with an 85-point finish in the Metropolitan Division, he sang their praises.

Seravalli's Optimism for the Rangers 2025-26 Season

«I don't think (the Rangers should sell off and acquire valuable prospects and draft picks). I think the Rangers are a playoff team. I think they're bouncing right back into it,» Seravalli said. «They're going to have new blood with a new coach, new energy. They have to defend better as a team, but maybe the coaching will help with some of that

"I'm bullish on the Rangers. I think they're in a prime spot to compete.»

The Rangers' failure to secure a playoff spot during the 2024-25 season triggered a selloff the likes of which we'd never thought we'd see.
We saw Kaapo Kakko, Ryan Lindgren, Jimmy Vesey, Jacob Trouba (December), and Chris Kreider out the exit door through trades near the end of the year.
With hopes they can recapture the magic lost from the 2023-24 season, GM Chris Drury has hired Mike Sullivan to lead the team into the promised land.
The only question is whether or not Seravalli is right about the team's trajectory. There are still some holes in the defense and in the offense that Drury failed to address.
They might be scrappy, but I feel that Seravalli is too optimistic.
