Rangers send clear message to each other after Game 5 loss
It was another disappointing loss on home ice as the New York Rangers went down 3-2 to the Florida Panthers to which Rangers players all had a very similar message during their post game media scrum.
The pressure appears to be building on the Rangers players as the president cup winning team is one game away from being knocked out of the playoffs. The Rangers coaching staff was looking for an improved play from their stars which marginally happened as Chris Kreider scored a goal his first of the series.
Others like Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin are still absent in this series which has crippled the Rangers offence. Rangers defenseman Adam Fox felt the team had a good effort against the Panthers but the team will need to focus on how to get to Game 6 and force a Game 7.
Even though head coach Peter Laviolette felt that the Rangers were competing against the Panthers, it's clear the Panthers are still outplaying and outmaneuvering the Rangers who held a 37-27 shot advantage. The Panthers also held the turnover advantage as the Rangers had 12 to the Panthers one.
The Rangers will need to shake this one off and refocus their minds as they prepare for their first elimination game in this playoff. Game 6 will be held on Saturday June 1st with game time being 8:00 PM eastern.
