NHL Insider reveals the Panthers were fuming after game winning goal
According to Elliotte Friedman of the 32 thoughts podcast, there was a sense that the Panthers were upset after the Rangers scored the game-winning goal in game three of the Eastern Conference Final.
The goal came at 5: 35 in overtime when Rangers forward Alex Wennberg scored his first goal since being dealt to the Rangers in 33 games. It was deflected from a Ryan Lindgren's shot which the Panthers felt might have been a high stick.
After the goal was scored, it was automatically reviewed by the NHL which is part of the rulebook and the Panthers refused to leave the ice until the ruling was in.
Whatever Panthers are upset about here, there's an automatic league review. Wennberg scored to win itfor now
Of course, the Rangers won the game and celebrated with their teammates. The third period of this game was certainly not the best for the Rangers as they held a 4-2 lead which quickly evaporated by two fast goals from the Panthers.
The Rangers will need to buckle down and play a complete game going into game 4 as the Panthers are a very dangerous team five on five and can strike at any moment as the Rangers learned today.
While taking a game off Sunrise FL's ice, the Rangers will play on Tuesday May 28th and game time will be at 8:00 PM eastern where the team hopes to take for control of the series.
