The New York Rangers are looking to reshape the blueline, and with a new Head Coach, things could change quicker than we expect. According to reports from NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, defenseman K'Andre Miller may be next on the list.

K'Andre Miller's name has been swirling in trade talks after the Chris Kreider trade had been completed. The RFA defenseman has yet to sign a deal with the New York Rangers
Even an astounding 78.3% of fans polled by Forever Blueshirts believe that Miller will be the next Rangers player to be traded by GM Chris Drury.
And as the Mike Sullivan regime in New York takes ownership over the ship, Sullivan could force Drury's hand and trade him.
«If there's more than smoke, there's absolute fire when it comes to K'Andre Miller,» Seravalli said on a recent Daily Faceoff podcast. «They are looking to re-shape their defensive core.

Which is understandable given all that he's seen him do, or not, during the 2024-25 season. He lost his confidence and his production declined along with his teammates this year. It painted a bad picture for Sullivan, who wants to turn the team back into contenders.
«My understanding is back from his days in Pittsburgh even before he got to New York that Mike Sullivan in Pittsburgh was not a huge fan of K'Andre Miller's game. That probably further enforces and supports that Miller is going to be on the move or likely be on the move.»

While Seravalli is known for delivering high-level news from deep in the locker rooms and front offices everywhere, it's difficult to truly know whether Sullivan likes his game or not. But considering how quickly Drury went to trade Kreider, it's hard not to see trends happening.
Sullivan hasn't been candid about what he truly thinks of each individual Rangers player, but a status quo that's been dogged down in failure has to be changed, right?
The Rangers' right side seems to be locked in, as they've signed Will Borgen to a new deal, Adam Fox is well, and Adam Fox. While Braden Schneider has proven he's a great 6th option for the team.
Trading Miller and Soucy would give Drury cap flexibility and the freedom to pick and choose the next defenseman to backfill the holes with.
All signs point to Miller being dealt this summer, and we'll see what comes to fruition as July marches forward.
