New York Rangers reportedly on a short list of destination for Defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov

The New York Rangers will have to consider their options should they trade RFA defenseman K'Andre Miller. One of those could end up being pending UFA and Los Angeles Kings defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov. According to reports, the Blueshirts may be considered a landing spot for him.
According to reports from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers may be one of the few teams on the list for whom defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov would exit the Kings organization.
Hopeful news, as the team is still pondering whether to sign or trade K'Andre Miller, an LHD who could leave a hole for Gavrikov to backfill should it come to that.
«Among left shots, Vladislav Gavrikov is not believed to have a long list of places he wants to go if he leaves Los Angeles, which is why so many are pointing to the Rangers,» Friedman wrote.
Which looks like the parts could be in play, as the team was reportedly in the works to clear cap space in order to sign the veteran Kings defenseman, according to The Athletic's Arthur Staple.
Vladislav Gavrikov would be an upgrade considering the players the Rangers have on the left side at the moment.
Carson Soucy has been mentioned in trade rumors recently, along with K'Andre Miller, which leaves Urho Vaakanainen as the only defenseman who could be left if GM Chris Drury reshapes the other side of the defense entirely.
As it stands now, the Rangers have $13.1 million in salary cap space left and still have a plethora of moves to complete the ongoing retool in 2025.
In 82 games this season, he scored a total of 30 points (5-25) with the Kings and played a significant amount of time with top defenseman Drew Doughty.
