New York Rangers veteran makes bizarre excuse for game one blowout
New York Rangers veteran forward Chris Kreider shared some interesting comments following tough loss to the Florida Panthers in game 1.
The Rangers took a tough 3-0 loss on Wednesday night against the Panthers, and during post game press Kreider shared an unusual excuse as to why they couldn't generate anything.
Kreider pointed out the obvious reason being the lack of effort among the team, then followed it up by saying there was low quality ice conditions at Madison Square Garden.
"This is not an excuse at all because we're both playing on the same ice. But the ice wasn't the best. But that's gonna be the case at this time of year. They put everything behind us and they went to work"
- Chris Kreider
He did clarify that he wasn't trying to make any excuses but it seems like a very odd thing to say about your home arena after being humiliated.
With the Rangers being down 1-0 in the series they main focus should not be on the condition of the ice, they need to be completely focused on trying to prepare to tie the series on Friday night at 8:00pm.
Makes you think if such a comment would be made if the Rangers had came out with a victory.
