The New York Rangers are hit with more unsettling news as reports have just confirmed that superstar forward is dealing with another injury after sustaining a lower-body injury at the start of the preseason.

Since the beginning of the New York Rangers preseason and training camp, superstar forward Artemi Panarin, suffered a lower-body injury and has since been sidelined. Resulting in him to miss the Rangers entire 2025 preseason thus far.
However, according to new reports on Saturday, Artemi Panarin is still sidelined as he is dealing with a completely different injury.
Mike Sullivan and the New York Rangers are now saying Panarin is dealing with a upper-body injury, according to Vince Z. Mercogliano:
- Panarin skated on his own this morning. He's dealing with an upper-body injury, so something different from earlier in camp (which was lower). But I'm told it's precautionary.
Unfortunately the situation doesn't end there as more reports continue to surface, and overall just complicate the whole thing.

Mike Sullivan Issues Confusing Injury Update On Artemi Panarin

After learning about Panarin's new upper-body injury, Mike Sullivan was asked if this was something new considering Panarin was suppose to play in the Rangers preseason game on Friday night but was scratched just moments before the game.
Sullivan reportedly said that this wasn't a different situation from what kept Panarin sidelined since the beginning of the preseason, but at first it was labeled as a lower-body injury and now it's a upper-body.
The situation with Panarin is a bit unclear at this point. He was dealing with a lower-body issue earlier in camp, then returned last Friday and practiced with the team all week. But now he's missed last night's game and today's practice with what's being labeled upper body, so presumably a different injury. But when asked if this is something new, Sullivan said no.

He added that they're «hopeful» Panarin will be ready for opening night, but there have been some twists and turns. #NYR
Regardless of what it is, the Rangers seem hopeful that the 32-year old forward will be ready to go for opening-night, which is just four days away.
