Mike Sullivan Confirms When The New York Rangers Will Finalize Their Last Round Of Roster Cuts

Following the New York Rangers preseason game on Thursday night, head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed when the organization will be making their final roster cuts.

The Rangers 2025-26 regular season is now only four days away, which means they only have one more preseason game before than. The New York Rangers final preseason game will be on Saturday October 4th, against the Boston Bruins.
However, during a post game interview, Mike Sullivan revealed that he would like get a little bit closer to their final roster before Saturday nights preseason game.
Here's what he had to say:
Sullivan on whether he expects to make more cuts before Saturday's preseason finale in Boston:

"Ideally we'd like to get a little bit closer to to the roster... I'll talk with with Chris (Drury) tonight, tomorrow morning, and put a game plan together for that."
With that being said it could very well be today (Friday Oct 3rd) or on Saturday morning before their final preseason game.

New York Rangers Training Camp Roster Down To The Final 27 Players

Back on September 30th, the New York Rangers made their last roster cuts from training camp leaving them with a total of 27 players remaining, 16 forwards, 9 defenseman, and 2 goalies.
As we all know the New York Rangers will need to be down to a total of 22 or 23 players before opening-night on October 7th, as they face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
