New York Rangers Head Coach Doesn't Hold Back While Discussing Adam Fox's Challenging 2024-25 Season

While last year was considered a "down-year" for defenseman Adam Fox, the former Norris Trophy winner has someone in his corner. That is Mike Sullivan, who will take the team into the 2025-26 with a fresh attitude and a new game plan. Is this his year for a rebound?
The New York Rangers are poised to bounce back in 2025-26.
After a dismal showing in last season, a point we often repeat, the team was 5th in the Metropolitan Division. They missed a wild-card spot in the playoffs, and the decline in production plagued the ranks all season.
That includes defenseman Adam Fox, who scored 10-51-61 last season, a step down from his three 70+ point seasons prior.
While fans may think Fox is down and out after one bad year in the NHL, Mike Sullivan has expressed his confidence in the "elite defenseman".
The Future of Adam Fox with the New York Rangers
It's obvious from Mike Sullivan's statement that he believes that Adam Fox is bound for another Norris Trophy-winning season in the NHL.
He's seen what Fox is capable of on the ice and knows that last season was a one-off for the former 3rd-round draft pick.
«I think 'Foxy' knows he's capable of a better game. And him and I have had discussions about it, and I think he's inspired with the opportunity to bring a better version of himself,» Sullivan said via The Athletic. «And I told him when I became his coach that I was going to do everything in my power to help him become the best version of himself.»
This sounds like the coach and defenseman have a solid game plan to elevate Fox's game again in the NHL.
His last 70-point season came in 2023-24 during the Presidents' Trophy run. Can he turn his game around and put himself back in the Norris Trophy discussion with Sullivan's help?
