The New York Rangers faced off against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night and got completely dominated as the Oilers took a 6-2 victory.
A tough loss like this definitely warrants some changes to be made and the New York Rangers surprisingly did just that, as they have recalled young a forward from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.
The New York Rangers PR team on X has just confirmed that the organization has recalled 22-year old forward Brett Berard from the America Hockey League.
Along with recalling this youngster to the lineup they have also announced that veteran defenseman Chad Ruhwedel and Victor Mancini has been reassigned to the Wolf Pack:
Definitely shocking to see Victor Mancini being reassigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack as he was just recalled to the Rangers lineup before they faced the Oilers.
However, fans and many alike are excited to see Brett Berard with the New York Rangers as he a has been on fire this season with the Wild Pack.
The 22-year is currently leading the Wolf Pack in points (13) with 7 goals (leads the team in goals) and 6 assists. He also notched 4pts (1G, 3A) in 3 straight.
Over the last three season Berard has managed to play 90 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack and has tallied 32 goals and 29 assists for a total of 61 points during that time.
However only time will tell if the youngster will make his NHL debut with the New York Rangers on Monday as they play against the St. Louis Blues at 7:00PM.
