Insider confirms the Rangers are in heavy talks with Atlantic Division team: indicating a trade is imminent

According to several reports the New York Rangers have had «advanced discussions» with the Buffalo Sabres regarding their top winger J.J Peterka.

The Buffalo Sabres have officially entered the sellers market and winger J.J Peterka is drawing a ton of interest around the league.

As trade talked continue to heat up, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, has revealed that the New York Rangers are one of the top teams to watch as they have advanced in heavy talks with the Sabres.

General Manager Chris Drury and the New York Rangers are desperately trying to retool on the fly, and they have been busy considering their recent trades throughout the week, including their latest as they acquired defenseman Carson Soucy from the Vancouver Canucks.

However, 23-year old Peterka, is still on his entry level contract, and is a pending restricted free agent this summer, and would be great addition for the Rangers as has scored 18 goals and 49 points in 58 games this season.

The Rangers have made it clear that their veteran players, such as Chris Kreider, K'Andre Miller and even Mika Zibanejad are trade candidates. So there's a good chance maybe one of them will be involved in this potential trade along with a top prospect like Othmann or Berard.
