Former New York Rangers forward has received a massive promotion with his former team on Friday.
Rick Nash, who is a legend in the city of Columbus as spent 9 of his 15 seasons in the NHL with the Blue Jackets organization, out of the nine seasons he spent four of them as the Blue Jackets captain.
After Rick Nash announced his retirement, he returned to Columbus as an Assistant to the General Manager, a position he held for two years before being promoted to the Director of Player Development.
However, Nash has landed an even bigger role with the Blue Jackets today.

The Coloumbus Blue Jackets publicly announced that they've promoted Rick Nash to Director of Hockey Operations
"Rick Nash is an extremely bright guy who has become an important part of our hockey operations leadership group," said Blue Jackets GM Don Waddell. "He is very passionate about the Columbus Blue Jackets and this community and has been a great resource for me since I arrived here in late-May. Rick made a significant impact on this organization as a player and will continue to do so in his role as director of hockey operations."
Along with this new role with the Blue Jackets, Nash has been a part of Hockey Canada for few years, serving as the General Manager for their team at the 2024 IIHF World Hockey Championship back in May.
