When Chris Kreider is set to return from the injured reserve, it appears GM Chris Drury will be excited to have him back. Ironically, it sounds like he might've gotten a few calls about the former 30-goal scorer.

The New York Rangers were thought to be shopping superstar forward Chris Kreider this trade deadline.
However, that time to ship him out of Madison Square Garden, and his home for the last thirteen years has come and gone.
GM Chris Drury may have had calls about the veteran forward, but when asked about whether or not he did have conversations about the former 30-goal scorer.
He'd neither confirm nor deny the existence of these happening, which leads us only to speculate.
However, he's excited for the time Kreider does return to the Rangers lineup, which is reassuring of #20's future in the Big Apple.
While this is good news for Rangers faithful who love Kreider in a Blueshirt, it's difficult to tell how he and the team will far at the end of the season, whether they do find the gumption to earn a wild card spot or fall out of the race for good.
It could be a positive thing for Kreider to get more time to recuperate, but deep down it won't feel right without the Rangers in the playoffs.
Drury would expand on his philosophy for the March deadline, explaining that he wanted to show that he trusted the current core of players to get the job done, while moving on from future UFAs.
He did so while acquiring some nice pieces, especially on the blue line with Carson Soucy. Who will add some muscle on the blue line with Ryan Lindgren now in Colorado.
For now, we can expect to see Kreider in a Blueshirt longer.
As for now, we can't predict the future but maybe at the end of the season, Kreider can turn his game around and find his lost playmaking abilities.
We already know that he can score goals.
