Trade Proposal: Pacific Division Team Looking To Acquire New York Rangers Former 1st-Round Draft Pick

Not too long ago, NHL insider Ellitotte Friedman revealed that Rangers former first-round draft pick, Brennan Othmann's name was already beginning to gain some traction early in the 2025-26 season, as several teams are looking to acquire him.

Since then, many have been wondering what teams could possibly interested in Othmann this early in the season, especially considering the fact he had failed to make the New York Rangers opening-night roster for the fifth time since being drafted in 2021.

However, according to reports, it appears that one specific team from the Pacific Division is interested in acquire the 22-year old forward. That team being the Vancouver Canucks.

According to Heavy.com, the Canucks could be looking for a player like Brennan Othmann despite their good start to the 2025-26 season as they currently are 4-2-0.

With that being said, it's fair to state that many teams are looking to make changes, but when looking at the Canucks forward group, it's clear that they could use a boost in offensive. Leading them to Othmann as he has experience in the NHL but has yet to truly break out.

While the Canucks get a player who has showed great promise in the American Hockey League, who has tallied 21 goals and 49 points in 67 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack in 2023-24, and currently 12 goals and 20 points in 27 games this past season.
