Chris Drury Faced With A Major Dilemma That Will Determine The New York Rangers 2025-26 Season
The New York Rangers General Manager Chris Drury has put himself in a dilemma. The Rangers will have to make a decision on three players who remain in the lineup, with Conor Sheary on a PTO, and Noah Laba a candidate for a roster spot.
The New York Rangers will have to make a
major decision before tomorrow in order to remain cap-compliant.
And former Stanley Cup champion Conor Sheary is finding a way to be relevant, as he
fights for a spot on the roster as well.
This has GM Chris Drury's hands tied, as it's obvious that he'll have to make a major move by tomorrow if he doesn't want ot incur the NHL's wrath.
GM Chris Drury Will Have to Make A Major Move Soon
Since he didn't place any other players on the waiver wire today, he'll have to consider whether to keep Laba, who has stood out as a roster candidate posting six points (2-4) in six preseason games with the Rangers.
While Brett Berard was expected to make the lineup this year as well, we await news of his fate. Berard's been recovering after repairing a torn labrum, which has affected his ability to contribute in the preseason.
The last game he played, he wouldn't come away with a point at all.
While Conor Sheary produced 3 points in 5 games, and showed Mike Sullivan he still has what it takes to be a reliable two-way forward for the Rangers.
We anxiously await GM Chris Drury's decision.
