Chris Drury and the Rangers Make Huge 13 player Transaction

The New York Rangers won Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Florida Panthers last night 2-1.

The Panthers have been locked in all playoffs, defeating their opponents swiftly. With Laviolette's lineup change, that has given the Rangers a chance to declaw the cats.

In doing so, the Rangers have added 13 players from the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack, their own Black Aces while the brutality of Panthers is evident on the ice, you need extra bodies to keep the playoffs alive.

In doing so, they have recalled:

Forwards: Alex Belzile, Brett Berard, Anton Blidh, Jake Leschyshyn, Brennan Othmann, Tyler Pitlick, and Adam S�kora

Defensemen: Ben Harpur, Connor Mackey, Victor Mancini, Matthew Robertson, and Brandon Scanlin

Goaltender: Dylan Garand

The team has recalled 7 forwards, 5 defensemen, and 1 extra goalie to backup Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick.

Notable names to look for should they make an appearance on ice in the playoffs are:

Brennan Othmann, who in 67 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack, has notched 49 points( 21 G, 28 A) whose experience in the AHL should lend well to utilization in the playoffs, should the need arise.

Othmann was drafted 16th overall in 1st round of the 2021 NHL entry draft.

Adam Sykora has played 68 total games in the AHL, with the Wolf Pack posting 23 points( 8 G, 15 A). The forward was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft 63rd overall.

Goalie Dylan Garand has played 2 seasons in the AHL, with the Hartford Wolf Pack, playing 48 games this season, including 9 Calder Cup Playoff games. His save percentage during the regular season was .898 and improved to .922 during the playoffs.

Garand was selected in the 4th round, 103rd overall, during the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Lastly, Brett Berard will have a chance to make an appearance during the playoffs as a Black Ace.

He played 71 games in AHL Hartford, and led the team in goals with 25, while posting 48 points total this season, as a rookie in the AHL. Berard was drafted in the 5th round, 134th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
