Top NHL Agent Hints at Several Trades Coming Imminently: New York Rangers to make a move?

According to Agent Provocateur host Allan Walsh, free agency is bound to pick up. The lack of money was a factor, along with top free agents being swept off the board with urgency. Could the New York Rangers be the next team to make some major moves?
While the opportunity to snag a top free-agent in the NHL has come and gone, as Brock Boeser, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Sam Bennett are off the board, other options are available.
Of course, with a rising salary cap and plenty of NHL teams itching to spend capital and assets in order to improve, things may look dire now, but NHL Insider Allan Walsh has given us some insight into what he's seen as a longtime agent in the league.
There is approximately $275 Million of available cap space remaining within the system for next year. The most common comment from NHL teams right now - «we have the cap dollars but no players to spend them on.» Watch for the trade market to heat up next week.
Will GM Chris Drury use this moment in order to shed players like Alexis Lafreniere or Braden Schneider? It's not difficult to think he'll utilize any available means of reshaping the roster.
Contenders who own part of that available share of cap space will undoubtedly spend to the brink in order to remain in playoff contention.
With this news, we should see some major moves as July progresses, including trades that could change the look of the league overall.
Players who could be moved are: Mason McTavish, Marco Rossi, and Bowen Byram, as they're offer sheet vulnerable.
We shouldn't expect any particular trade to happen right away, but we could see traction when the salary cap rises once again.
Training camp is only months away, and teams will need to optimize their roster.
