Chris Tanev exits game after suffering Gruesome injury from MacKinnon
Dallas Stars defenseman Chris Tanev forced to leave Game 5 after suffering a hit from Avalanche superstar Nathan McKinnon.
This injury is compounding for Tanev as he suffered another injury during game 4 when Avs Ross Colton rocked Tanev with a hit. He managed to find the strength to play in this game but apparently this hit was too much.
Chris Tanev took a big hit from Ross Colton near end of Game 4 and stayed off the ice last 2 days. Now he leaves the ice after his first shift tonight following this play... went to dressing room
The good news for the Stars, is that Tanev returned to the game and played over 19 minutes.
Tanev has been instrumental with the Stars
Tanev, has been a shot blocking king out there while providing the Stars with excellent defensive play that have helped them propelled them into the second round. The stars are putting their best game forward as they have met some of the most elite teams through the 1st 2 rounds in the Western Conference.
Tanev will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and it's widely expected that many teams will be lining up to call to see what his number would be in terms of salary.
The Stars are in tough tonight as the Colorado Avalanche fought for their lives as they were down 3-1 in the series. The avalanche ended up beating the Stars 5-3 which now switches back to Denver as the team looks to tie up the series and force a Game 7.
