The most rewarding thing as an NHL referee is being asked to officiate a Stanley Cup Final game. However, this one referee has a weird statline when it comes to a specific team.
Linesman Dan O'Rourke worked Game 3 of the Cup Final last night. When O'Rourke is refereeing a Florida Panthers game, the Panthers are 14-0-1 (13-0-1 at the time of the tweet). The Edmonton Oilers are 0-5 (0-4 at the time of the tweet).
The New York Rangers had the same troubles with O'Rourke, as Florida held a winning record going into the Conference Final games. The Panthers were undefeated with O'Rourke officiating.
There are questions coming out about whether or not the league is rigging the cup into Florida's favor. It looks like they are, but it's doubtful the league will tamper with the championship. However, it does look a little fishy.
