Rangers rival could be gutted this summer
As the trade deadline has come and gone, it was clear that the Rangers metro rival the Carolina Hurricanes were loading up their roster as they are preparing for a long run in this year's playoffs.
Adding players like Jake Guentzel certainly will give their offense a boost but one fact became clear.
GM Don Waddell has a very long list of players that will become either a restricted free agent or an undrafted free agent at the end of the year.
The names are quite remarkable as several are stars on the team.
This could signal a huge change in the teams makeup next year and Don Waddell can untie himself to many contracts and look for other players while bringing up new talent from their AHL affiliate.
It seems that the Metro division could go under a major overhaul including the Penguins, Flyers and now the Hurricanes.
This will bode well for the Rangers.
