Former Stanley Cup Champion and Original Six member sadly passes away at 76-years old

Recent reports confirm devastating news as former Stanley Cup champion, and Original-Six member Phil Roberto passed away at 76-years old.

Reports surfaced on Wednesday afternoon, by the St. Louis Blues organization that forward Phil Roberto had sadly passed away at 76-years old. Roberto officially began his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens in December of 1969.

During his time with the Canadiens, Roberto would see a significant increase in his performance in the 1970-71 season, where he'd tally 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) in 39 games. The same season he tailed an assist while the Montreal Canadiens defeat the Chicago Blackhawks to win the Stanley Cup.
Roberto would than later be shipped to St. Louis partly through the 1971-1972 season, where he'd score a total of 77 points (33 goals, 44 assists) in 148 games wearing the Blues note.

He'd later join the Detroit Red Wings during the 1974-75 season, and would score a total of 48 points (14 goals, 34 assists) in 83 games wearing the winged wheel.

Roberto would later understand the journeyman experience in the NHL as he'd join three different teams in 1975-76 to 77, joining such teams as the Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Scouts, and Cleveland Barons.

His NHL career totals are 385 games played, 181 points (75 goals, 106 assists), and one Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens.

Following his time in the National Hockey League, Roberto decided to join the WHA, Birmingham Bulls and never returned back to the NHL.
