A devastating announcement has surfaced from the city of Vancouver, that has left several within the hockey world mourning the tragic loss of nearly a dozen citizens.

Earlier this morning, the city Vancouver woke up to some very devastating news, as a truly horrific incident had occurred over night, that took the lives of eleven citizens.
At this time, it's still remains unclear what actually happened, but it was revealed that a man was driving, and drove his vehicle into a crowd of civilians during Lapu Lapu Day festival, taking the lives of eleven people.

Vancouver Canucks organization issues heartbreaking statement following the incident

The Vancouver Canucks organization didn't take long to issue a statement on the heartbreaking incident, after the devastating news surfaced:
We are heartbroken by the tragic events that occurred tonight at the Lapu Lapu Day celebration.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted, including Vancouver's Filipino community. We extend our deepest condolences and support during this unimaginably difficult time.
This festival is held every year by the city of Vancouver, and it's a celebration among the Filipino community that honors Cilipino Chieftain Datu Lapu-Lapu.
Lapu Lapu Day is a day of celebration in the Filipino community that honors Filipino Chieftain Datu Lapu-Lapu who is best know for his heroic actions in the Battle of Mactan in 1521, a battle in which he defeated the Spanish forces led by Ferdinand Magellan at the time.

Truly some very devastating news to say the least, and on behalf of everyone here at NY Rangers Insider we'd like to send our deepest condolences to everyone affected by this tragic incident.
