American ice hockey player Adam Johnson has died following a freak accident on the ice as he played for English side, Nottingham Panthers.
The devastating accident was an on-ice collision which resulted in a cut to his neck from a skate. He was only 29 years old.
He played in the NHL and made 13 appearances with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2018-2019 season.
Here is a video of when he made his first goal in the NHL against his hometown team, the Minnesota Wild.
It's always a sad day when a member of the hockey community passes, especially as young as he was, while playing a game that he, along with everyone of us, absolutely loved.
All we can do, is give our prayers and deepest condolences go to his family, friends and teammates.
Rest in peace.
