Win Comes At A Cost As Rangers Suffer Another Injury
Defenseman Ryan Lindgren left to the locker room with 18:30 left in the third period of last night's 4-3 shoot-out win and never returned after taking an extremely hard hit to the head from center Sean Kuraly.
Here is a closer look on the hit.
Kuraly was originally given a 5-minute major for this hit on Lindgren, but it was reduced to a 2-minute minor after review from our best friends in Toronto.
Peter Laviolette confirms it's an upper-body injury and is day-to-day, while also saying the refs originally gotten the call right before it was egregiously overturned.
Let's see if the NHL Department Of Player Safety will take a look at the hit.
We will provide more updates of Ryan Lindgren status as more information becomes available later today.
