TSN reporter reveals New York Rangers former first-round pick has now landed on the trade block

New reports indicate that New York Rangers former first-round pick has now also landed on the trade block.

New York Rangers former first-round pick Kaapo Kakko is now reportedly a player who could possibly be traded this season.

According to Darren Dreger of TSN, reports have surfaced that Kaapo Kakko's name has resurfaced in trade talks.

Dreger on Insider Trading says Kappo Kakko's name has resurfaced in trade talks, but Rangers will not give him away. Ice time is an issue and Kakko probably wants a fresh start.

This of course comes after Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Rangers have announced that they are set to make move and shake up their roster.

Along with that he also stated that two veterans, Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba have specifically been the main targets, but other options will be considered.

In the aftermath of their 6-2 loss in Edmonton on Saturday, the Rangers have made it very clear they are interested in making moves and shaking up their roster.�

Despite rumours and speculation of the Rangers trading Kakko over the offseason, they ultimately signed the 23-year old a one-year, $2.4 million «prove it» contract extension.

Through the first 21 games with the Rangers this season Kaapo Kakko has shown some major improvements, as he has played on the wing and at center.

Along with that The 23-year-old has managed to tally three goals, nine assists for a total of 12 points in 21 games while averaging 13:14 minutes per game.
