The New York Rangers might have to find a new home for forward Artemi Panarin, who has rejected a team-friendly deal recently. NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman dropped a juicy bit of information regarding his next landing spot.
Panarin is the $11 million man on the Rangers' payroll, and since he's rejected the team's latest offer, his time in a Blueshirt could be in question.
Rumors are buzzing surrounding the former 120-point forward, as General Manager Chris Drury and the team failed to convince him to sign a deal to help the team win.
Or Chris Drury would have to endure negotiations with Artemi Panarin and his camp
to facilitate a trade where he'd want to go.
The Minnesota Wild Could Be Right for Artemi Panarin?
While it seems far-fetched, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman believes that the Minnesota Wild could be the perfect spot for him.
«I could see that,» Seravalli said Tuesday on Insider Notebook. «They've got cap space, and if they could find a way to make a reasonable deal, it could be an interesting fit.»
As General Manager Bill Guerin seeks to improve the lineup, Panarin could be a perfect linemate for
Kirill Kaprizov, or a great 2nd-line forward to extend team depth.
It'd be part of his promise to Kaprizov that they will get better. But at the moment, they only have $3 million in cap space and would have to utilize cap gymnastics in order to make room for the $11 million forward, Artemi Panarin.
Secondly, the Russian forward himself would have to agree to the move before anything happened.
Panarin is in the last year of his $81.5 million deal with the Rangers, and as an aging forward (33), we ponder what the team could get in return in trade.
