Transaction: New York Rangers to sign veteran forward before the season starts?
New York Rangers to sign veteran forward James Van Riemsdky as training camp is just a few weeks away.
As the offseason is practically over, Van Riemsdyk is still without a contract despite his impressive stats and track record. As the veteran has not gone a single year without scoring less than 10 goals in 15 NHL seasons.
The 35-year old still hasn't plenty of talent and passion for the game hockey, this past season with Boston Bruins, he managed to tally 11 goals, 27 assists for a total of 38 points in 71 games while averaging 13:30 minutes of ice time.
Van Riemsdyk is also a former New York Rangers rival as he played two seasons ago with the Philadelphia Flyers and managed to score 24 goals.
Van Riemsdyk is the perfect player for the Rangers to give a professional tryout to as he looks to remain in the NHL, and serve as a reliable bottom six-forward for the Rangers.
