The New York Rangers look to add some new pieces to the roster.
One piece could come from free agency, as they have the cap space to sign a small contract. Well, there's a veteran who might just fit both requirements.
Ryan Suter, defenseman, was bought out by the Dallas Stars making him a free agent.
Depending on what happens with the Jacob Trouba situation and the re-tooling process, Suter could add some value to that defensive core.
Suter, 39, is old, but just capped off his third season in a row playing a full 82-game season, doing better than most players. Suter had 17 points in the fully played season last year and had a +15, being one of the better defenders in the NHL.
Suter will be a good get at a one-year deal at the minimum for the Rangers if need be.
