The Rangers' Might Be Better Than Most People Think
The New York Rangers currently have a 3-2 record to start the season. I don't believe the record indicates how good this team currently is, especially defensively.
Check out these stats from NY Rangers PR on X:
The Rangers' being second in face off percentage is huge, and bodes well for the team in the future if they can maintain this against more offensively potent opponents like the New Jersey Devils or the Carolina Hurricanes.
Also allowing the least amount of shots per game in the NHL is fantastic as that takes a load off of
Igor Shesterkin and
Jonathan Quick for them to be the best they can be.
That also attributes to the Rangers' having the sixth lowest goals allowed per game at 2.40, making them one of the best teams defensively in the league.
A combination of some incredible standout defensemen like
Adam Fox and
Ryan Lindgren, and the goalie tandem we have make this all come together.
This road stretch will be a critical stretch of games to see what this team is made of, and the road continues with their next game against the Calgary Flames, Tuesday, October 24, at Scotiabank Saddledome, in Calgary.
