Rangers Star Offers A Good Reason For The Win Last Night
The Rangers will go as far as Igor Shesterkin will take them.
Tuesday night's 1-0 win over the Hurricanes was just the latest reminder of Shesterkin's brilliance, posting his second straight shutout with 28 saves to give the first-place Rangers a six-point cushion on Carolina in the Metropolitan Division standings.
In his last 10 games (since Feb. 12), Shesterkin has posted a 8-1-1 record, 1.50 GAA, .956 save percentage, and three shutouts.
He has allowed one or fewer goals in seven of his last 10 contests.
He dedicated the win to his mom's birthday!
"Today's my mom's birthday. Couldn't play a bad game on her birthday."
Igor Shesterkin shut down a Hurricanes team that had outscored their last three opponents 15-5.
