Rangers forward Matt Rempe1 received a surprise hit from Panthers Dmitri Kulikov who body checked Rempe into the boards during the third period of Game 2.

The play in question was during the third period when Rempe tried to carry the puck into the Panthers end to which Kulikov upended him on the boards where he fell on his back. Rempe was not injured on the play but certainly caught him off guard.

His entrance in his rookie year of the NHL has been nothing short of spectacular.

Rempe has taken on many fighters throughout the NHL as many felt that they wanted to see what the kid is made of. He has been electric for the dressing room and many teammates speak highly of him as he has embraced his role and enjoyed some playing playoff hockey.

Rempe continued his style of play as he laid 9 hints against the Panthers along with one block and played 10 minutes of hockey. The Rangers ended up tying the series 1-1 after winning the game 2-1 in overtime.

The series will now switch to the Sunshine State as Games 3 and 4 will be played in Sunrise FL. With his play tonight, it's likely he will continue to be in the lineup as the Rangers will need all the muscle they can find as the Panthers continue to throw their physicality and toughness against the Rangers lineup.
