It appears that Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette gamble of putting defenseman K'Andre Miller alongside Adam fox has paid off in dividends for the team.
The two defensive partners were paired due to the injury of Ryan Lindgren who suffered an upper body injury. Since that move was made, both defensemen have complemented each other quite well and have developed chemistry that has helped propel the Rangers forward.
Miller gave his thoughts on how the new partnership is working
«It feels great,» Miller said about playing with Fox. «I think we are doing some really good things. Offensively and defensively, I think we are playing the game the right way. Getting our chances offensively from playing good defense, so overall it's been good.»
Miller has led the Rangers in average ice time as he holds 23 minutes per game and fox is only 5 seconds behind him who also has eight points on the season.
Laviolette is enjoying his experiment gave his thoughts during a recent interview.
«For me they are a top pair,» Laviolette said. «They are both able to play against top players, they are both high-end players, both have the ability to skate and make big plays. They've been playing really good. I think they compliment each other, they see the game offensively and are good defensively. «
The Rangers as a team are enjoying the start of their season as they have accumulated 13 points out of a possible 16. Their current record is 6-1-1 and have the best goal differential in the Eastern Conference holding that plus 18.
The Rangers with their new defensive duo will go on the road and face off against the Washington Capitals which will be held on October 29th and game time will be 7:30 PM eastern.
