The NHL trade deadline is less than seven days away and this cues the silly season to begin with mock trades and other interesting rumours that have swept through the web.
Sportsnet decided to jump into silly season with a mock trade proposed by one of their senior writers Ryan Dixon.
The deal involves the New York Rangers Kappo Kaako heading out West for a rather low return which many Rangers and NHL fans voiced their distaste for this move.
Even though Kappo Kaako has not panned out as the Rangers have hoped, the former first overall pick certainly would be worth at minimum a high draft pick, a prospect and roster player.
Jason Zucker would be a good addition to the Rangers as he would give them veteran presence, scoring and stability on the third line.
But the Coyotes would certainly need to send more to the Rangers than just him.
Trade deadline will be an interesting one as it's been pegged as a sellers market and many teams who are bowing out of the playoff race are looking to sell off more players and to recoup draft picks and prospects as they rebalance their lineups.
It's been rumored that Kakko will be involved in the deal as the Rangers are not interested in moving their first round pick in 2024.
