Rangers Mika Zibanejad emerging as a leader in playoffs
With the Rangers gearing up for Game 2 against the Carolina Hurricanes, it's become clear that Mika Zibanejad have become the main point getter for the Rangers as he continues to rack up points in these playoffs. Through five games of play, he has complied up 10 points.
These ten points are capped off from a three-point night he had in game one where he scored two goals and one assist was a + 1. Over the course of this year, he quietly put together an 81 game season and scoring 26 goals with 46 assists and 72 points and was a + 15.
He was down from last year where he had 91 points through 82 games But his play in the playoffs has improved dramatically.
Many of his teammates are speaking out on what he is doing for the team during this playoff run and defenseman Braden Schneider feels that he is a leader for them and sets the tone.
"He's a leader for us, he sets a tone for us, and I think he's done an amazing job at doing that."
The Rangers are hoping to go up two games to none as they will host game two at Madison Square Garden on May 7th and game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
