Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette has a few words regarding Jonathan Quick's latest performance

The New York Rangers have found a solid backup goalie in Jonathan Quick, who continues to amaze us all at the age of 39. He earned the praise of Head Coach Peter Laviolette after their 6-1 defeat of the San Jose Sharks.
Jonathan Quick has become a reliable goalie for the New York Rangers. Laviolette plucked him from the bench and put him in the net on the team's second game of a back-to-back series on the West Coast.
He'd face a familiar rival from his Kings days, the San Jose Sharks, who are undergoing a rebuild. He'd make 21 saves on 22 shots against players like Alex Wennberg, Macklin Celebrini, and Will Smith.
While Igor Shesterkin played the night before, Quick got the nod so Shesterkin could rest while the team continued their playoff push in the Eastern Conference.
Laviolette would sing his praises for his ability to jump into the game after being out of the lineup for the past few weeks.
«To watch him jump in like that, that's him, he's a pro,» Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said. «He's been doing it his whole career, but to jump in and give us an effort like he did tonight, I thought was really good.
Laviolette would acknowledge Quick's abilities to remain a solid goalie in the twilight of his career.
«I thought we played well in front of him, but there's a lot of talent on the other team, and there's always opportunities that need to be stopped.»
The Rangers showed their faith in the 39-year-old as they signed him to a one-year, $1.55 million AAV contract extension, securing his spot as Igor Shesterkin's backup.
While maintaining continuity in the lineup for next season.
This season, Quick has a record of 10-6-2, with an .898 save percentage.
