Rangers Forgot To Play Defense After Building 2-0 Lead
The Rangers forgot to play defense after building a 2-0 lead against the Dallas Stars.
They ended up allowing six unanswered goals to the Stars to go down 6-2, five goals in the third period alone.
Barclay Goodrow ended up getting a goal in the last 15 seconds left in the game in garbage time to cut the deficit 6-3.
Unfortunately it didn't matter. The Dallas Stars completely outclassed the Rangers in the final 20 minutes of the game.
This is the Rangers first loss in regulation since October 19th, where they lost 4-1 against the Nashville Predators.
Take a look at this GameScore Impact Card for the Rangers from HockeyStatCards.
Zac Jones and
Braden Schneider clearly didn't help this game where they combined for a -4, and the Rangers still don't get any 5v5 production from their top line, especially from
Mika Zibanejad and Blake Wheeler.
It's a loss that's going to sting for a while. The Rangers are now 12-3-1 for the season.
They still remain in first place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Rangers will look to bounce back against the rival Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday, November 22nd, at the PPG Paints Arena, in Pittsburgh.
