The Rangers and the fan base we're given a reality check when the Florida Panthers handed them an ugly loss which caused many fans to stream out of MSG before the game ended.

The outcome of this game was certainly not what the Rangers fans had hoped for when they sat down at Madison Square Garden to watch game one. Throughout the game, the Rangers appeared nervous and uncertain as the Panthers dictated many parts of the game with their physicality.
Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been fantastic throughout these playoffs. But whether it was the long layoff or not as focused, Shesterkin looked average and let in a very soft goal to put the Panthers up 1-0.
But the game well in hand for the Panthers, the Rangers fans chose not to stay and many for upset with the performance as this was the first time the Rangers had faced some adversity from their opponent.
The Panthers will be a handful for the Rangers to beat but it's up to head coach Peter Laviolette and his staff to adjust their team which includes bringing in new players like Blake Wheeler to add some physicality to their lineup.
Game 2 will be held on Friday May 24th and game time will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
