Rangers captain issues surprising statement on Wheeler after game 4
During the first intermission of Game 4, Rangers captain Jacob Trouba was excited and quite happy about his longtime friend and teammate Blake Wheeler's return to the Rangers lineup.
Trouba spoke about the journey for Wheeler after suffering a gruesome injury earlier this year that had left him out for the entire second half of the season. After working diligently with the training staff and doctors, Wheeler was able to return to game 4.
«It's pretty special he made it back and it shows what kind of guy he is.»
Wheeler has been the Rangers biggest fan as he has stayed with his teammates through the playoffs and always bring positive energy to the dressing room.
Both Wheeler and Trouba share a history as they played together in Winnipeg for several years. Both bring valuable skill and talent to the Rangers squad and it will be deeded as the Panthers 1 gained 4 and knotting the series at 2-2.
Head coach Peter Laviolette eased Wheeler back in to playing. He played 9 minutes and 18 seconds of ice time while having two minutes in penalties with four hits and two blocks shots and no points.
The series will switch back to MSG with the Rangers hoping to reassert their home ice advantage. Game five will happen on May 30th and puck drop will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
