Peter Laviolette confirms whether or not Rangers forward Filip Chytil would have to retire or not after his latest injury this season.

Fortunately for the forward, his collision with defenseman K'Andre Miller didn't end up being another serious, as a concussion has been ruled out.

According to Larry Brooks of The New York Post, Chytil did not suffer a concussion and he is expected to join the Rangers in Calgary.

With news that Chytil will travel will travel with the team, there's little to wonder when he'll be ready to return to the lineup as he's considered "day to day" by the Rangers organization.

Peter Laviolette confirmed that the Rangers aren't in a rush to push Chytil back into the lineup with the positive news, of no concussion.

Chytil was forced to exit last week's game against the Winnipeg Jets and has not practiced since while he did not travel with the rest of the team to start their four-game road trip.

The Rangers would benefit from a Filip Chytil return, as the 3rd line was one of the best drivers of offense for the club.

Per MoneyPuck the 3rd line remains one of the best at controlling the game on ice with an XG of 65.2%, compared to the Rangers 2nd line of Chris Kreider-Mika Zibanejad-Reilly Smith, at 47%.

All the reason not to force a return, but to ensure he's healthy and comfortable so when he does return, they can pick up where he and his linemates left off.

From a systems standpoint, Chytil does something on breakouts and zone exits that the Rangers lacked from the center position: An offensively minded player that circles back to the dots to give the defense an outlet pass to drive play up the ice. For the most part, the Rangers lived and died last year by the stretch pass. Chytil circling back gives a low risk, high reward outlet to drive play.

To say he's a vital part of the lineup is understated, and hopefully, this can illustrate how big of a piece he is.
