According to NHL Inside Eliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks talks regarding J.T. Miller fell through.
While the first two proposals have failed, that doesn't mean discussions have stalled regarding Miller.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers and Canucks were progressing in trade talks regarding Miller before everything ultimately fell through.
«Don't expect hour-by-hour updates on Miller,» Rick Dhaliwal of The Athletic said. «This is a process, it's going to take time, but they are still talking to teams. Just because the Rangers and Canucks talks broke down doesn't mean that the Canucks just stop trying to move Miller and it's over.
«This is still very real and they are still making phone calls, there are still teams in the mix, we are still hearing names. It hasn't stopped.»
While it seems that two teams have moved off of the original trade proposals Friedman hasn't detailed whether the team's have stopped talking altogether.
The Rangers could ultimately benefit from convincing J.T. Miller to return to Madison Square Garden.
Miller reportedly prefers to be traded to the East coast according to Friedman. However, there are conflicting reports on whether or not Miller specifically requested a trade.
He's a former 100+ point forward and has playoff experience with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Vancouver Canucks.
He could provide a spark to the Rangers lineup that key players haven't been able to as of late.
