Must see: Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe scores an absolute beauty for his goal of the 2024-25 season
Very exciting night for New York Rangers fan favourite enforcer Matt Rempe as he managed to score his first ever goal of the 2024-25 season.
Matt Rempe has managed to score his first goal of the season during the New York Rangers game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night, and it was a beauty!
MATT REMPE WITH AN ABSOLUTE BEAUTY 🚨
Thanks to a nice pass by his linemate Adam Edström who gave Rempe a perfect pass in the offensive zone giving the 6'9 giant plenty of space to make his move.
As Rempe found himself alone he flashed off a nifty little backhand to score his first NHL goal since the 2024 playoff series against the Washington Capitals.
However after scoring his first goal this season, Rempe celebrated by putting his hands to his ears, urging the crowd to get loud, and they certainly did as «Rem-PEE! Rem-PEE!» chants broke out.
Super loud ovation when Rempe's goal is announced, and a lot of folks actually stood up. And now, "Rem-PEE! Rem-PEE!"
Following the game the 22-year old forward discussed how it felt to get that goal:
#NYR Matt Rempe on his goal: "It was a lot of fun. It's pretty exciting, me and Eddy -- one of my best buddies -- to connect like that. I think that we've been playing really well together. I think we just keep it going."
Definitely a great night for the Rangers as they managed to get a 5-0 victory and another much needed two points. Hopefully they can continue this momentum on Thursday when they face the Philadelphia Flyers.
