The New York Rangers' top prospect, Noah Laba, has earned a spot in the team's regular lineup. It is still the beginning of the season, but the 3rd-line has a lot to prove after receiving a huge compliment from coach Mike Sullivan.

Center Noah Laba has found a way to stand out during the regular season.
In the first four games of the year, the prospect has scored 2 points (2A) on the team's 3rd-line centering Jonny Brodzinski and Taylor Raddysh.
Considering he was thought to be a lock for the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack this season, he's been a total surprise.
He's earned time on the power play and penalty kill this season as a rookie, and never intends to quit learning.
«I'm learning a lot, growing a lot,» Laba said. «A lot of areas in my game I'd like to improve on and continue to get better, so just kind of learning from the older guys, trying to gain experience as I go.»

While Head Coach Mike Sullivan has been impressed with how he handles himself on the ice every night:
«Probably just his poise,» Sullivan said of what he's been most impressed about Laba. «He doesn't seem to get rattled if he makes a mistake out there. He's able to learn from it, move by it. It doesn't affect his next shift, or two or three, whatever it may be. He has a maturity to him. I think that's important to have success in this league.
«He doesn't hang on to things when it doesn't go the right way, but he also has the aptitude to learn from it, which is an important element of growth and development. So I think his poise has been the most impressive thing, from my standpoint.»

It's obvious that he's earned the confidence of Mike Sullivan, as he's found himself on special teams and is in the bottom six of the lineup.
Not an unrealistic placement for someone who is still learning in the NHL.
Laba intends to keep proving Sullivan right.
«It's awesome,» Laba said of Sullivan's praise. «Obviously, I want to prove him right in him saying that, and just continue to get better each and every game.»

The Rangers rookie has 2 points in 4 games, and that's an exciting total for someone who's just made the leap into the NHL, after a short period with the Hartford Wolfpack.
