New York Rangers Superstar Linked To Pacific Division Team With Several Close Connections: Per Friedman
An interesting story is developing as NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has linked the Anaheim Ducks to another New York Ranger. In what seems to be the newest dumping ground for past Rangers talent, could he be the linchpin that delivers them to the playofffs?
The Anaheim Ducks are hot to start off the 2025-26 season. Thanks in large part to Joel Quenneville joining the squad and
Lukas Dostal's quality goaltending.
Of course, other pieces like
Chris Kreider ( a former Ranger) and
Mason McTavish deserve credit as well. The accelerated start has given GM Pat Verbeek a reason to look elsewhere for talent, according to
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman.
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman Links Artemi Panarin to the Anaheim Ducks
The always curious, no stone unturned reporter has linked the Anaheim Ducks to the Russian forward who is a
pending UFA:
The Ducks are 7-3-1 and 1st in the competitive Pacific Division, where they have surprisingly found themselves atop a division in the thrall of chaos. Injuries everywhere, and Verbeek aiming for lofty goals such as a playoff spot, Panarin would make sense.
At the moment, the team could fit Panarin up their salary cap, as they have $13.9 million available with even after the signing of Mason McTavish during the offseason.
The connection between the Ducks and Panarin makes sense, considering that Joel Quenneville was Artem Panarin's coach when he began his career in Chicago.
He could bring his lumber to Anaheim and be the hired gun who could trigger another level of hockey not seen on the West Coast for some time.
The only question is, would Panarin waive his no-movement clause for the Ducks?
