New York Rangers issue a major announcement regarding the 2025-26 season and it's exciting

It's the first schedule released by the organization since the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs where the Rangers have been idle for the past couple of months.

The preseason will feature six games with the Rangers facing off against three opponents who are the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders and the Boston Bruins.

As always, there will be three home games and three away games with the Rangers on the road against there neighbors the devils on September 21st.

All four teams involved in this schedule will be undergoing major changes as all four teams wish to improve their standing as all four were not playoff contenders last year.

Many eyes will be on the New York Islanders and the devils as both teams we're either in a playoff or in the playoff hunt but fell short.

The Islanders are now under newly hired general manager Matthieu Darche formerly of the Tampa Bay Lightning and many expect him to make changes to his roster which may include trading Noah Dobson.

While the schedule is set for the preseason, the Rangers are preparing for the NHL Entry Draft where they will select in Round two at 43rd after making their decision sending the 2025 first rounder to the Pittsburgh Penguins to help complete the JT Miller trade.

Many expect the Rangers to be active this offseason as the team has made it clear to the fan base that they will not look the same coming into September's training camp.

Fans will need to wait and see how general manager Chris Drury will approach these changes but with rumors swirling and more reports actively stating trades are about to occur, it's likely fans will not take long to see the changes in effect.
