So soon after trading forward Chris Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks, it appears GM Chris Drury and the New York Rangers are in the mix for more trades. It's been speculated that defenseman K'Andre Miller is the next to go, but there could be more moves ahead, according to Vince Mercogliano.

The New York Rangers continue to retool the lineup slowly but surely. While there haven't been any blockbuster moves this offseason, the Chris Kreider trade hurt particularly.
We'd learn that Mika Zibanejad may be off the block, as Head Coach Mike Sullivan visited him and his wife Irma in advance of the regular season, to get to know him and his family.
While they were expected to be Stanley Cup contenders in 2024-25, that remains to be seen whether they can replicate the success of 2023-24. That's why USA Today's Vince Mercogliano gave us some insight into the Rangers' front office.
Mercogliano believes that the Rangers will be trading RFA defenseman K'Andre Miller. A move that's been anticipated, as his name has been swirling in trade rumors recently.
While they could be in the market to acquire LHD Vladislav Gavrikov, a move which would upgrade the team on the blueline.
The reason for the move? It's all about stability for the Rangers. In 82 games, Gavrikov posted 30 points (5-25) with a +26 on the ice. He'd help stabilize a Rangers lineup in the throes of chaos last season.
While they could regain some assets for K'Andre Miller, despite missing out on his upside, should he find his game again in another NHL team's uniform.
The team isn't going to make any huge deals this year after moving the 12th overall pick in 2025. But they are going to continue a retooling in the hope of finding the right lineup under Mike Sullivan, which could catapult them to the Stanley Cup finals.
