The New York Rangers have just announced that they have recalled an unexpected forward to replace Filip Chytil's position.

Thursday night the New York Rangers faced off against the San Jose Sharks for the first time this season, unfortunately during the game Rangers forward Filip Chytil sustained an injury after colliding with teammate K'Andre Miller.

Saturday morning the Rangers hit the ice for their morning practice before starting their four game road trip and Filip Chytil is not attending due to suffering an upper-body injury.

UPDATE: Filip Chytil (upper body) will not return tonight.

However, the New York Rangers have just recalled 25-year old forward Jake Leschyshyn to fill Filip Chytil's roster spot.

UPDATE: Jake Leschyshyn has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Truly some troubling news for Filip Chytil's situation considering is career has been filled with injuries.

Despite this report there's still some hope for Chytil as reports have surfaced from Vince Z. Mercogliano stating that Chytil is not being ruled out for the Rangers road trip and could very well join the team on the road.

They're not ruling out Chytil joining the team later in the trip, from what I'm told, but it depends how he progresses. It's a delicate situation, as you might imagine. #NYR

Hopefully Chytil hasn't sustained a serious injury and this is just for concussion protocol, however its very likely that Chytil will not play for the Rangers on Sunday against the Seattle Kraken at 9:00PM.
